My journey in home building began alongside my father, mother, and brother in the beautiful state of West Virginia.

My father worked tirelessly as a union coal miner, and along with my mother, my brother, and me, we built our new home.

Union miners then faced contract renewals every three years, and strikes were common. When I was only seven, my parents started building our home. We lived temporarily in a trailer on theproperty while our future home took shape.

My father worked nights in the mine's control room, and each morning when he returned, we plunged straight to work as a family. This routine continued until we completed the house when I was eight.

From there, ourpassion for building grew. By the time I graduated high school, the mines had closed, leaving many workers, including my father, jobless.   My father transitioned into real estate and became the area's first modular home builder.

We continued to build homes together, and I eventually started my own interior design business, often taking on the
construction aspects of my designs.

The housing market crash significantly impacted our
state, and my previously bustling business slowed to a crawl. I had to get creative and adapt to new methods to sustain my work. Despite the setbacks, my family now has the honor of building over 300 homes in West Virginia, including my son's house, which was #300.
